About the Speaker
Once again we are celebrating with an incredible author!
Maryann McFadden is the author of So Happy Together and The Richest Season. Her journey to being published is one of challenge and perseverance. She will share her story of becoming published and the long road there.
SO HAPPY TOGETHER, her second novel is an Indie Next Pick. These are books that are “Inspired Recommendations by Independent Booksellers.”
SO HAPPY TOGETHER is a portrait of three generations of women, as they navigate challenges we face in each stage of life: from the mother-daughter bond, to the desire to break free from ties that bind, and ultimately to the power of forgiveness. Follow Claire, Amy, and Fanny, to the magical dunes and beaches of Cape Cod as they discover that sometimes it’s our dreams that hold us back and realities that set us free. And that love is possible at any age.
The idea for this story took root a few years ago as Maryann found herself suddenly part of the “sandwich generation,” a growing demographic of women who are caught between the demands of children and aging parents, while still trying to hang onto their own dreams. But this is really Claire’s story. I hope you enjoy it!
Her first novel, THE RICHEST SEASON, was also an Indie Next Pick when it debuted in hardcover. It’s now as a trade paperback, perfect for book clubs.
THE RICHEST SEASON was originally self-published 3 years ago after she shelved it three times. With true belief in the book and she decided she couldn’t give up. So instead worked hard to get it out there, no easy feat. It sold so well, and received such great reviews, that within a year she had a top agent who took it to auction and was lucky enough to sign with Hyperion Books. It has also been published in Italy and Germany.

It’s holiday time, so we want to have lots of fun! We will be once again, donating to NORWESCAP’s Women’s Transition Center and DASI (Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assualt Intervention Service) If you are interested in donating please bring gift cards to local stores, that can be used for holiday shopping.
You are also invited to bring a “white elephant” gift. We will have fun, with a fun filled gift exchange. What is a “white elephant” gift — well, its that gift that is still sitting in your house unused but someone else would LOVE!! It is a chance to re-gift. Value to be about $10.
